Let’s get to know each other. I’m Eric Moore from Atlanta, Georgia, a man who has been interested in various audio-video equipment for most of my conscious life. Over the last few years, I have not only been accumulating my knowledge but also passing it on to other people (not just my friends). Yes, I also became a writer. In my reviews, I strive to equip you with the knowledge you need to make informed decisions when purchasing receivers, thereby saving your budget and helping you choose the optimal model.
About HomeTheaterology
Starting from 2010, my mission was clear, and it’s the reason I’ve created this website. Here, I try to unravel the mysteries of AV receivers, to reveal their inner operations, and to provide readers with comprehensive insights that transcended the ordinary. I made it my life’s work to bridge the gap between technology and the nonpro, transforming complex terms into easily understandable things.
My biography
Most of the time, I work with audio/video equipment (testing, analysis), and sometimes I help friends and relatives repair their devices. I graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009, so this area has always been my favorite, and for many years now, I have not changed my passions.
But my connection with AV receivers runs deeper than academic curiosity. It’s a passion that courses through the veins, a love affair that began as a hobby and evolved into a lifelong obsession. From the first time I cranked up the volume on my dad’s vintage receiver to the countless hours spent tinkering with audio setups in our garage, my journey was set in motion by a thirst for understanding the intricacies of sound reproduction.
If you ask me what my specialist area is, it would probably be home cinema. Nothing brings me fulfillment than a big-screen TV, an AV receiver, and a set of cool speakers, which is my genuine love. The greater the size of the display and the more speakers there are, the more pleased I am.
I can spend days testing models or creating systems, forgetting what day of the week it is. But as Confucius said: “The man who loves his job never works a day in his life.” Therefore, amateurs and everyone who is starting to explore the world of AVR are welcome. Don’t forget to pin the tab with my reviews, and stay tuned!
